Laurie Flanigan Hegge
Playwright
Laurie Flanigan Hegge is a playwright, lyricist, and theatre artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. She loves building stories around women buried by history.
Plays include Loose Lips Sink Ships, See Jane Vote, Hormel Girls, Twenty Days to Find a Wife, Sweet Land, the musical (based on beloved indie film of the same name), Boxcar and her most recent commission for the History Theatre in St. Paul, Dirty Business, a musical about the infamous spy Betty Pack.
The Twin Cities, where she lives with her actor-husband and aerialist-daughter, is a hotbed of new work—fertile ground for collaboration and new play development. She can often be found at History Theatre or Nautilus Music-Theater, both onstage and at the writer’s table.
